I’m sure you have heard about these ladies before, and if not, here is a link to their wikipedia.
From their wikipedia: Abigail Loraine Hensel and Brittany Lee Hensel (born March 7, 1990) are dicephalic parapagus twins, meaning that they are conjoined twins of whom each has a separate head, but whose bodies are joined. They are highly symmetric, giving the appearance of having just a single body with little variation from normal proportion. In fact, several vital organs are doubled up, each twin having a separate heart, stomach, spine and spinal cord.
The reason I bring them up is because they are going to have a new show on TLC starting on August 28th. I think they are really inspiring because of the number of their goals they have accomplished so far. From a physical therapy standpoint, I think it’s amazing that they complete all the functional tasks that they do! Abby controls the right side of their body and Brittany controls the left side.
I look forward to watching how they move, walk, run, and especially drive a car to see how they coordinate all those activities.
